What are Personal Instagram Accounts?
Personal Instagram accounts are the most basic account types available on the platform. They allow Creators to publish content and manage an inbox of Direct Messages, but do not come with access to additional features (e.g. Insights, the ability to boost posts or use Swipe Up links, or use Quick Replies) that can help grow their presence on Instagram.
💡 Tip: To help walk your Creators through the process of changing their account type, use our Creator Support Center for a step-by-step guide.
What data is available for Personal Instagram Accounts?
Content and follower count data is available for any Personal Instagram account that you choose to add to your Creator Network within CreatorIQ. Note that we are not able to to automatically collect posts from Personal Instagram accounts for your Campaigns; to collect posts, we recommend using the “Get latest posts" button within your Campaign page Tools menu to collect posts for all Creators in the Campaign:
Or, using the "Get latest posts" button within the Expanded Creator View → Published Posts to collect posts for individual Creators:
Additionally, in compliance with Instagram's Terms & Conditions, we are unable to provide data on personal Instagram accounts in your Discovery page unless the Creator has over 1M followers. If the Creator has a presence on other social media channels, data on these other channels will be provided; however, metrics and audience data will not be available for Instagram with the exception of those accounts that meet the minimum follower threshold.
How can I find Personal Instagram Accounts?
- In your Creator Network, filter for Creators with an Instagram profile and find any profiles that are missing the briefcase logo
(used to indicate a Professional profile):
- Look out for an amber error message at the bottom left hand side of your Campaign Creator list:
- If a Creator has a personal account and Instagram is selected as one of your Campaign’s social networks, look out for the warning in the Creator expanded view → Published Posts:
