As of March 2023, CreatorIQ is excited to announce that we support TikTok Campaign Invite Links, which streamline the connection between your branded content and the TikTok Creator Marketplace API. The new workflow ensures compliance with TikTok's content guidelines and provides your brand with access to first-party data and insights.
What are Campaign Invite Links?
Invite Links allow each campaign creator to upload content to TikTok via a unique URL, ensuring that each post is automatically associated to the relevant campaign in your CreatorIQ dashboard. The new workflow is applicable for all creators, regardless of whether they are in the TikTok Creator Marketplace.
CreatorIQ automatically generates these links for every creator in your TikTok campaign and shares them on the Campaign Details Page. You can also choose to automatically plug in the relevant Invite Links to an email templates using our dynamic field placeholders. A creator can upload up to 10 posts using the same link, and will receive a new link for each new campaign to ensure that content is accurately attributed.
Why use Campaign Invite Links?
It’s important to note that Campaign Invite Links are the only compliant way to run branded partnership campaigns on TikTok, and non-use of the link means that your content will be at risk of being taken down and removed by TikTok moderators.
When collaborating on branded content with a creator, the creator must upload the video using the Invite Link provided. When the creator publishes a video via their unique Invite Link, the Branded Content Toggle will be automatically enabled.
Additionally, Campaign Invite Links offer a more streamlined way to connect posts to TikTok’s API, as they no longer rely on a creator to take additional steps to input a Campaign Code or manually enable the Branded Content Toggle. All they need to do is click on the Invite Link once they are ready to publish content while the TikTok API and your CreatorIQ dashboard takes care of the rest of the work.
Invite Links also allow easy access to the post-level insights available exclusively through TikTok’s API, including audience demographics, reach, video completion rate, and watch time.
From Campaign Codes to Invite Links: What’s changing?
Campaign Codes will still be available as a means of connecting content to TikTok's API, and any active campaigns using existing Codes will not be impacted. However, we strongly recommend you begin to use Invite Links instead of Campaign Codes to take advantage of the new, streamlined process.
A best practice is to only send a creator a Campaign Code if they were unable to or forgot to upload their content via an Invite Link. Retroactively adding a Campaign Code will allow creators to connect their post to the TikTok API and enable the Branded Content Toggle after the post has already been published, so the content is compliant and post-level insights are available.
Please note that if you are not currently using Campaign Codes or Invite Links in your TikTok Campaigns and your creators upload videos using the standard upload flow, the video will not be directly linked to your campaign via TikTok’s API and may be taken down. TikTok guidelines require that a creator must always upload the branded content using an Invite Link, and failure to do so could result in lost content.
How can I use Campaign Invite Links effectively?
To begin leveraging Campaign Invite Links in your CreatorIQ dashboard, start by enabling TikTok as a social platform your Campaign Settings, and specifying any requirements important to your campaign. Next, be sure to communicate expectations and directions clearly to your creators as this is key to building a smooth relationship between your team and your creator community. Below are some tips on how you can ensure that Invite Links become a seamless part of your workflow:
- View and check your automatically generated Invite Links within your campaign requirements.
- Specify any additional requirements, like date range or content type, so directions are clearly provided on the Campaign Details page.
- To provide additional guidance, create an email template with instructions for your creators and use a dynamic field placeholder to automatically populate their link.
- Did a creator forget to use the Invite Link to upload their content? Don't worry! Provide a Campaign Code and request that the Code be added retroactively for a quick fix.
- Require more than 10 posts from a creator in a single campaign? Remember that each unique link can be used up to 10 times, so you'll want to make sure to input the correct number of posts required for the Campaign so two links can be generated for each creator.
